What's New With The Vagrancy?
What's New With Sabina?

Right now we are choosing plays for our new season at The Vagrancy, my artistic home here in LA.  Our announcement date is coming up!  My days and nights are spent reading voluminous amounts of material in my dim, romantic apartment light to the sound of the buzzing bulbs.

I am also preparing to directing a week-long intensive workshop of Annette Lee's play, The God Particle.  This is an awesome story colliding the sciences and the emotions through the eyes of a young female scientist with a dark past.

Last best thing I ate:  homemade quiche by Co-Artistic Director Caitlin Hart.

I moved to Los Angeles two years ago and am now working in Los Angeles as a freelance director.  My personal history begins in Poland, where I was born.  Later I moved to Germany, Michigan, Pennsylvania, California, Pennsylvania, New York, and now I am back in California again, pursuing theatre directing.

In my moving about, I have found my passion to be new play development, and I tend to work with the playwrights just about as much as I do with actors.  In defining what kind of theatre it is I want to do, the answer is simply "good theatre."  And that, in my opinion, can be very difficult.  Above all, I am a storyteller, and my work tends to be very story-driven as I am a stickler for real things.

I like the following playwrights:

John Osbourne

Anton Chekhov

Romulus Linney

Tommy Smith

Sarah Kane

Maxim Gorki

Caryl Churchill
